Rambler Spirit Takes Off for Spirit Week

Last week, the Loyola community came together to BLAst off into Fall Spirit Week! Lake and Laramie transformed into a launchpad, sending students on a weeklong mission filled with themed dress-down days, games, activities, and plenty of Rambler pride.

The festivities began with Space Jammies, as students traded their polos and khakis for pajamas and launched the week in cozy style. On Thursday, Ramblers traveled around the sun, suited up for Mission: Maroon & Gold, and closed out the week bringing NASA-inspired red, white, and blue spirit to campus. 

Throughout the week, students enjoyed participating in a variety of space-themed activities during Flex, including Slime Station and Simon Says, Cosmic Cotton Candy, and the always-popular water-balloon Meteor Toss. Ramblers also tested their teamwork and competitive spirit with a game of Capture the Flag—on the Moon, of course!

The week reached its high point with an Intergalactic Pep Rally, where Ramblers gathered to cheer on their classmates, celebrate Loyola spirit, and get fired up for an exciting Homecoming Game where Quarterback Matthew Lee '28 threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Joe Haughey '27 with just 70 seconds remaining in the game, resulting in a 27-24 victory for the Ramblers over Brother Rice!  

Rambler sophomores, juniors, and seniors danced the night away at The Space Jam homecoming dance on Saturday night, and the Class of 2030 will carry this spirit into the coming weekend as they get ready to celebrate one of Loyola's favorite first-year traditions—the Freshman Luau.

Spirit Week 2026 gave students countless opportunities to show their creativity, camaraderie, and Rambler pride. We thank Student Activities, Student Council, faculty, and staff for helping make this year's celebration out of this world!
