A Jesuit education is a gift that transforms lives. The educational experience at Loyola Academy is rooted in the powerful vision of St. Ignatius, which prioritizes service to others, personal reflection, discernment and prayer. These tools ground our students in strong Jesuit values and instill in them a desire to pursue the great questions of our existence. With your support, Loyola Academy students are poised to make a profound impact on the world.

Gifts of all sizes enable us to provide exceptional spiritual, academic, athletic and arts programming to every Rambler every day. Thank you.

Ways to Give

  • By Mail

  • Venmo

Venmo a gift @LoyolaAcademy. Include your full name and class year to receive recognition for your gift.
  • Gifts of Securities/Stock Transfers

Giving appreciated stock to Loyola Academy is a wonderful way to help us continue our mission and for the owner to receive tax benefits on such gifts. If you itemize your deductions, you can claim a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the donated securities and avoid capital gains tax. If you no longer itemize, donating appreciated stock still provides the benefit of not having to pay tax on the appreciation. This allows Loyola Academy to receive a larger gift than if it was sold by the owner and the proceeds donated to the school. In turn, the owner receives a greater tax deduction by giving the stock directly to Loyola Academy.

  • Matching Gifts

Many Employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. Please click here to find out if your company has a matching gift policy.
  • CARES Act

The CARES Act provides additional tax benefits for supporting Loyola Academy in 2020:
    • Donors who do not itemize may claim the standard deduction plus up to $300 for individuals and $600 for joint filers for cash contributions made to Loyola Academy and other public charities in 2021.
    • Donors who itemize their deductions may deduct cash contributions to Loyola Academy and other public charities in 2021 up to 100% of their AGI. Previously, the deduction for contributions was limited to 60% of an individual's AGI.
  • Required Minimum Distributions Waived/ IRA Rollover

The SECURE Act enacted in December 2019 provided that IRA participants in qualified retirement plans were required to take distributions at age 72 (it formerly had been at age 70 ½ yrs. old). Then, COVID-19 relief further provided that in 2020 there will be no required distributions no matter what the age of the IRA participant. However, if you want to continue to utilize your IRA for charitable giving, the tax-free transfer from an IRA directly to Loyola Academy, known as the IRA Charitable Rollover, is still available to anyone age 70 ½ or older. The annual limit for the direct rollover remains $100,000. If a spouse also has an IRA, s/he may also directly rollover $100,000. Note: if donors wish to take funds from their IRA to contribute more than $100,000 to Loyola, the additional amount will not be excluded from their gross income. Instead, given the charitable deduction limit modifications, the donor can deduct the additional amount to the full extent of their adjusted gross income.
  • Bundling Gifts

Considering the standard deduction for the tax year 2020 is $12,400 for single filers and $24,800 for married filers filing jointly, which includes an additional entitlement if you are 65 yrs. and older, as well as any applicable limits on deducting property taxes and state income taxes, many individuals are exploring the idea of “bundling” two or more years of donations or pledge payments into one year in order to be sure that they exceed the standard deduction. You can then itemize your deductions every other year to generate a tax benefit from your charitable giving.
