Counseling & Formation
The Counseling Department and Formation Program supports students in their academic, personal, social-emotional, and college planning journeys while advancing Loyola Academy's mission of forming women and men for others.
Rooted in the Jesuit principles of cura personalis (care for the whole person) and the Magis (the pursuit of excellence in service of others), the department helps students discern their gifts, navigate challenges, and grow as leaders committed to faith, justice, and service.
Through Loyola's four-year Formation Program, students engage in a developmental curriculum that explores topics including wellness, relationships, leadership, social-emotional learning, college and career readiness, and personal reflection. Guided by their school counselors, students are encouraged to become religious, intellectual, physically and socially-emotionally fit, loving, open to growth, and committed to doing justice. Grounded in Jesuit values and aligned with national counseling standards, the program helps students understand themselves more deeply while preparing them to thrive in an ever-changing world.
In Counseling & Formation, students do more than plan for the future—they discover who they are called to become.
