Junior Elsa Ahern Qualifies for IHSA State Cross Country Championship

11/3/2026

The Loyola Academy girls Cross Country team finished its season with an 11th-place team finish at the IHSA State Sectional. Sophomore Elsa Ahern ‘28 earned an individual spot in the IHSA State Championship by placing 22nd with a time of 17:54.

Cross Country asks athletes to push past their limits mile after mile, often in the hardest stretches of a race. Elsa’s run reflects the spirit of the magis, giving her very best when it mattered most. Every Rambler on the course this season ran for her teammates as well as herself, supporting one another through each practice and meet.

Congratulations to Elsa and to the whole team and coaching staff on a strong season. Go Ramblers!
