2021 Open House Returns to In-Person Tours

The Office of Admissions welcomed nearly 700 prospective students and their families to campus for a bustling fall 2021 Open House on Thursday, November 4. After a year hiatus due to the pandemic, admissions staff members were delighted to host future Ramblers in-person and to have the opportunity to pair junior high students with current Ramblers for personal tours of the school and facilities like the student center, library and piazza.
New this year, registration was required to attend Open House—a change intended to promote social distancing by easing traffic into the building and reducing wait times. Aside from pre-registration and required masks, Loyola's 2021 Open House picked up right where it left off in 2019, showcasing the very best of Loyola Academy’s academic, athletic, ministry and curricular programs and having a lot of fun along the way. We are grateful to the 550 Ramblers who gave nearly 700 tours! Special thanks to the hundreds of other students that volunteered to work in classrooms and represent their cocurricular club and/or athletic team.

“I am always in awe to see the entire Loyola community in action,” says Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Beau Desherow ’93. “The energy and hard work from the faculty, staff and students was amazing and made for a great experience for our guests. It was truly a great day to be a Rambler!”

For those unable to attend Open House in-person, two virtual options provided a convenient alternative for families interested in learning more about Loyola Academy: a virtual tour and a virtual open house.

Next up for 8th grade students: the Loyola Academy Entrance Exam is on Saturday, December 4. Loyola administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Students must take the Loyola Academy Entrance Exam to be considered for admission to Loyola Academy. Online pre-registration for the exam is available from November 13 until December 2. Please visit goramblers.org/entranceexam for additional information and to register beginning November 13.
