A number of young alumni are spending their summer breaks at Lake and Laramie as they work in various capacities at the Loyola Academy Day Camp serving as instructors, lifeguards, and camp counselors. Their time and service spent with summer campers is a wonderful reminder that once you’re a Rambler, you’re always a Rambler!
“I love the community feel with the camp but most importantly the kids!” says Maura Scopelliti ’14, who works as the assistant pool manager. “Even though I may not work with each kid everyday, I still do in a way by watching them swim! Any pool can be fun, but the kids from Loyola Day Camp are the main reason why our pool is the best!”
AJ Treiber ’15 works as one of the camp instructors. “Loyola has proven to be very influential in my early professional career,” he says, adding: “The day camp has helped me develop different skills that I have applied in my own classroom working with students. I only find it right to try and give back to Loyola as much as it has given me.”
Alumni working at Loyola’s Day Camp include: Olivia Andrew ’17, Gilbert Bailey ’95, Katie Blommer ’19, Kaylee Braasch ’19, Cassidy Coughlin ’18, Ali DeLeon ’19, Ben Dukes ’19, Millie Dunbar ’13, Catherine Holecek ’19, Jordan King ’18, Angela Lynch ’18, Katherine Lynch ’18, Mark Mcguire ’06, Sarah Pinkerton ’18, Maura Scopelliti ’14, and AJ Treiber ’15.
