On Monday, January 20, Loyola Academy’s Gold Hockey Team won the 4th annual Jesuit Cup, defeating St. Ignatius with a score of 3–0. Goals were scored by Johnny Sullivan ’21, Nicholas Braun ’21, and Freddy FitzSimons ’20. Yianno Nikas ’21 was in the net.
During the tournament, the Ramblers also defeated Marquette University High School (Milwaukee) 4–3; Brebeuf Jesuit (Indianapolis) 13–0, and Loyola High School (Montreal) 5–2.
Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, presided over Mass on Sunday for the six Jesuit teams in the tournament: Loyola Academy, St. Ignatius College Prep, Marquette University High School, Brebeuf Jesuit, Loyola High School, and Gonzaga (DC).
