Boys’ Water Polo Wins MCAC Championship

The Loyola Boys’ Water Polo Team went 3–0 to win the Catholic League (CCL) Championship at the MCAC Tournament this past weekend. The Ramblers defeated St. Viator 17–6, St. Patrick 10–5 and Fenwick 11–8 to win their first league title since 2014!
Kenny Sajnaj ’19 scored 10 times, John Merucci ’18 netted 8 goals and Tony Spallone ’18 found the back of the net 7 times to lead the Rambler offense. Jake Carr ’20 was outstanding in goal, allowing only 6.5 goals per game against the #4 and #6 teams in the state.
 
Notably, Spallone ’18 was the recipient of the Lawless Award for Senior Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Merucci ’18 and Carr ’20 were also named All-Conference.
