Loyola Academy Girls Rowing Season Concludes with National Success

The Loyola Academy girls' rowing program capped off one of the most successful seasons in its history with outstanding performances at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championships over Memorial Day weekend in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The SRAA National Championships, considered the premier regatta in high school rowing, brought together more than 150 schools and over 2,000 rowers from across the country. Crews earned invitations to the national competition through strong performances at regional championships.

The Ramblers delivered impressive results across all levels of competition.

Loyola's GIrl's Second Varsity (2V) crew returned to the national medal stand for the first time since 2018, earning a bronze medal after a dramatic race in which the Ramblers surged past rival New Trier and closed the gap on Mount St. Joseph's in the final stretch.

The Girl's First Varsity (1V) crew competed against some of the nation's top programs and secured a ninth-place overall finish. After advancing through heats and semifinals, the Ramblers placed third in the Petite Final to earn a top-10 national finish.

The Freshman First Novice (1N) crew completed the finest season in program history. After capturing the Midwest Championship and ending New Trier's 15-year reign, the freshman girls entered Nationals as the top-ranked freshman crew in the country. Loyola advanced to the Grand Final and battled nationally ranked crews from Philadelphia and San Francisco before earning a silver medal—the first national medal ever won by a Loyola freshman girls' crew.

Together, the accomplishments of the 1V, 2V, and freshman crews showcased the depth, resilience, and competitive excellence of the program. With a bronze medal, a top-10 national finish, and a historic silver medal performance, the Ramblers demonstrated their ability to compete with the nation's elite while continuing Loyola Academy's tradition of excellence.

Congratulations to all of the student-athletes and coaches on an exceptional season and a remarkable showing on the national stage.
