Varsity Boys Track and Field Wins Chicago Catholic League Championship
The Loyola Academy varsity boys track and field team captured the Chicago Catholic League Outdoor Championship on Friday, May 15, highlighted by several standout individual and relay performances.
Colin McKinney '27 was named one of the meet's two Lawless Award winners, recognizing him as one of the most valuable athletes of the championship. McKinney earned first place in the 300m hurdles, finished second in the long jump, and helped lead Loyola’s runner-up 4x400m relay team.
William Wycklendt '27 also claimed an individual conference title for the Ramblers, winning the pole vault competition.
Additional second-place finishes were earned by:
Bulieno Diabor '26 in the 110m hurdles
Maxim Suschko '27 in the 3200m run
Henry Lamb '28 in the triple jump
The 4x100m relay team of Anthony Boapiah '27, Luke Wirtschoreck '27, Mikey O’Donnell '28, and Noel Kantanka '28
The 4x400m relay team of Ezekiel Griffin '26, Colin McKinney '27, Colton Stiller '28, and Luke Wirtschoreck '27
Colton Stiller '28 also contributed valuable points for the Ramblers with third-place finishes in both the 300m hurdles and high jump.
