Ramblerettes Shine at National Dance Alliance Nationals, Earn Prestigious Go Be Great Award
The Loyola Academy Ramblerettes competed February 14–16 at the 50th Anniversary of the NDA High School Nationals, delivering one of the strongest performances in program history while exemplifying the mission that shapes Rambler life.
On the national stage, the Ramblerettes advanced to Semi-Finals in Large Varsity Game Day, placed 12th in Large Varsity Pom Finals, and achieved a historic 5th place finish in Medium Varsity Jazz—the highest jazz placement in program history. Their dynamic jazz routine also earned the NDA Unleashed Award, a distinction voted on by judges and presented to a team for a uniquely entertaining and standout performance within its division.
As a special surprise, the Ramblerettes were named recipients of the NDA Go Be Great Award for the entire 2026 National competition—one of the event’s most prestigious honors. The Go Be Great Award recognizes teams that go beyond performance to make a meaningful impact in their schools and communities. It celebrates programs that demonstrate leadership, philanthropy, character, and service, reinforcing that good character is as essential as competitive excellence.
Senior Captain Bria Licudine '26 submitted the team’s application letter for the Go Be Great Award, highlighting the Ramblerettes’ commitment to being women for others. Rooted in Loyola's Jesuit identity, the team embraces opportunities to serve through participation in the Arrupe Service Program and through consistent engagement with the broader community. Throughout the season, the Ramblerettes volunteered at the Winnetka Children’s Fair, performed at the Wilmette Block Party, and raised more than $3,200 for Metavivor through a football game bake sale. They crafted handmade blankets for Project Linus and supported Misericordia Heart of Mercy through performances, fundraising efforts, and volunteer service at the Misericordia Family Fest and the Heart of Mercy Ball.
While the Ramblerettes are widely recognized for their halftime performances and competitive success, they take deepest pride in the relationships they build and the communities they uplift. Their presence at nationals was not only a testament to their discipline and artistry, but also to their leadership—young women striving for the magis (the more) and using their gifts in service of others.
Through their achievements on stage and their sustained commitment to community, the Ramblerettes embody the spirit of Loyola Academy: excellence with purpose, talent grounded in humility, and leadership rooted in faith.
