Loyola Academy Celebrates the Season Through Music at Annual Christmas Concert
Loyola Academy ushered in the joy and hope of the Christmas season with two beautiful performances of its annual Christmas Concert, held on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, in the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center. This cherished tradition brought together our combined bands, orchestras, and choirs—directed by Jesse Borower (Choir), Sean McQuinn (Band), and Patrick Rustandi (Orchestra)—for an evening rich in artistry, collaboration, and communal spirit.
Families, friends, alumni, and members of our community gathered to enjoy a vibrant program of Christmas favorites—beloved carols, festive arrangements, and moments of spirited sing-along that invited all to participate. The concert reflected the heart of Jesuit education: many gifts united in harmony for the good of the community, offering a thoughtful pause in a busy season to rejoice together in beauty, gratitude, and hope.
“This concert is a highlight of our year,” shared Fine Arts Department Chair Pat Patterson. “Our students pour their hearts into this music, and the joy they share with the community is a reminder of what the arts make possible—connection, reflection, and a sense of wonder. It’s a privilege to witness their growth and to celebrate the season together in this way.”
Under the direction of our dedicated faculty, students performed with poise and joy, embodying the Ignatian call to bring their gifts into the world with purpose and generosity.

As we continue through the Advent and Christmas seasons, we remain grateful for the students and educators who bring the arts to life at Loyola—and for the community that gathers to celebrate with us.
