Loyola Choir Delivers Inspiring Performances at Fall Concert
On October 9, the Loyola Academy choir filled the McGrath Performing Arts Center with rich harmonies during their annual fall concert. Students from across grades showcased their vocal talents, performing a diverse repertoire that included A Change is Gonna Come,Dirait-On, and The Circle of Life.
The concert examined flowers as symbols of beauty and change. In the show's program, Choir Teacher Jesse Borower writes, "Loyola Academy students are often led to the words of St. Ignatius of Loyola, 'Go forth and set the world on fire.' Of course, the hard part is the how. In The Rose, the great poet Christina Rossetti's words make a pretty bold claim: beautiful things can ignite change."
He adds, "These interdisciplinary student musicians come together day after day in all their likeness and differences with a shared goal: to create beautiful music. They show us that if the pursuit of beauty can gently coax us to that practice of cooperation, maybe we can find some truth to Christina Rossetti's claim after all."
Audience members were treated to standout performances from Concert Choir, Chorale, and Honors Chambers Singers. Solos by Maggie Schomer '26, Ang Magboo '29, RJ True '26, and more created memorable moments that underscored the immense talent within the choir. To see a recording of the concert, click here.
