Caroline Hewitt '28 Makes Her Mark at IHSA State Tournament
Loyola's Caroline Hewitt '28 qualified for the IHSA State Tournament with a third-place finish at the Glenbrook South Sectional. The top four singles players and doubles teams from each sectional advanced to state.
At the state tournament, Hewitt fell to a top-16 seed from Barrington in her opening match before bouncing back with two impressive victories in the backdraw over Champaign Central and Quincy. In her fourth match of the day, she battled a top-8 seed from Glenbrook North, ultimately falling 6–3, 6–3 in a hard-fought contest against a tough opponent.
Hewitt finished the season with an impressive 25 wins at the No. 1 singles position, highlighted by her two victories at state.
