The Loyola Academy Girls' Varsity Tennis Team continued its impressive run of success, capturing the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) Championship for the second consecutive year. Entering the tournament as defending champions, the Ramblers delivered a strong all-around performance to once again claim the top spot in the standings.
At first singles, Caroline Hewitt '28 earned a third-place finish after defeating DePaul College Prep 6–1, 6–0 in her final match.
At second singles, Emilia Nelson '26 staged a remarkable comeback in the semifinals against Fenwick, rallying from a 2–5 deficit in the first set to advance to the championship match, where she finished as conference runner-up.
At third doubles, Hadley Jones '26 and Mary Kate Humphrey '26, the tournament's top seed, overcame a challenging second-round matchup against St. Francis, winning 10–6 in a third-set tiebreak. The pair went on to defeat St. Ignatius 6–3, 6–0 in the final to secure the title.
At second doubles, Molly Minahan '28 and Thea Yordan '27 were dominant throughout the day, earning straight-set victories over both St. Ignatius and Fenwick to capture another first-place finish for Loyola.
At first doubles, Ainsley Schachman '27 and Lizzie Baskfield '26, also seeded No. 1, defeated Fenwick in the semifinals to advance to a highly competitive final against St. Ignatius. After dropping the first set, the duo battled back to force a decisive third-set tiebreak, ultimately falling 10–7. Schachman and Baskfield concluded conference play with an outstanding 8–1 record together.
With strong performances across all positions, the Ramblers totaled 31 team points, securing first place overall and their second straight GCAC Championship. St. Ignatius and Fenwick followed in second and third place with 28 and 26 points, respectively.
