Girls Varsity Golf Advances to Sectionals and Concludes a Strong Season
The Loyola Academy Girls Varsity Golf Team continued its tradition of excellence this fall, responding to new challenges with focus and determination. Assigned to a new IHSA Regional this year, the Ramblers embraced the unfamiliar setting and rose to the occasion with confidence, teamwork, and poise—showing their Rambler spirit.
IHSA Regional Championship — September 30
The Ramblers arrived at Itasca Country Club on a brisk Tuesday morning, ready to qualify for the next stage of the IHSA State Series—and they did just that.
Loyola placed second overall with a team total of 336, securing advancement to the IHSA Sectional Championship.
Seniors Macy Schultz and Abbey Riekse led the charge, each firing an impressive 82 to tie for third place individually. Sophomore Sophia Labuz followed with a solid 84, while sophomore Cece Swaim added an 88, freshman Mirah Le carded a 91, and senior Lily Silich rounded out the lineup with a 100.
The team's depth and consistency across all players highlighted the collective strength of the program.
IHSA Sectional Championship — October 6
The Ramblers competed in the IHSA Sectional Championship on Monday, October 6, at Winnetka Golf Club, finishing seventh overall in a talented and competitive field.
Riekse led the way for Loyola with a strong 81, closing out a season that showcased both individual growth and team unity.
