Loyola Academy Student Completes Prestigious Summer Program at La Universidad de Salamanca

This summer, Reese Tauke '26 participated in a rigorous international program through La Universidad de Salamanca, one of Spain’s most historic universities. The program, offered to high school students worldwide, was made possible thanks to the professional membership of Loyola Academy's Spanish faculty in the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). Reese earned her nomination by excelling on the National Spanish Exam, a highly regarded national contest.
Through the course, Reese completed four self-administered modules on Spanish grammar, supported by notes, activities, and check-ins. The program provided six weeks to complete each module and conclude with a final exam. The flexible structure allowed students to pace their learning while maintaining a high standard of academic rigor.

Reflecting on her experience, Reese shared that she was surprised by how much the program helped her reinforce and retain what she had learned in her junior year. Her achievement highlights Loyola Academy’s commitment to supporting students in pursuing global learning opportunities that strengthen language proficiency and cultural understanding.
