Girls’ Bowling Takes 3rd Place in GCAC Tournament, Heads to IHSA Regionals

On Saturday, January 27, the Loyola Academy girls’ bowling team took 3rd place out of twelve teams in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) Championship. Coach Bruce Tres, who was named one of the top 100 bowling coaches in 2014, guided the girls throughout their successful season.
A few standout performances helped the Ramblers capture 3rd place: Claudia Pensamiento ’19 bowled a 972 series for a 162 average; Caroline Paden ’19 bowled a 965 series for a 160 average; and Asiana Olanda ’18 bowled a 898 series for a 150 average.

Notably, both Paden and Olanda were named to the GCAC All-Conference Team.

Cheer on the girls as they head to the IHSA Regionals next Saturday, February 3, at Habetler Bowl in Chicago!
