Misericordia and Loyola Celebrate 6th Annual Sports Day

On June 27, the Loyola Academy Varsity Football team hosted its 6th annual Misericordia Sports Day on Hoerster Field. This event has become a cherished tradition for Loyola’s football program and provides guests from Misericordia the opportunity to experience the thrill of playing high school football with the Ramblers.
The afternoon began with loud cheers as guests from Misericordia ran through the player-formed tunnel at the entrance of Sachs Stadium. From there, players and residents participated in a variety of fun challenges and activities, which, after a proper warm up, included field goal kicks, touchdown runs and kickoffs.

The afternoon concluded with a group photo and a snack that the players shared with their guests—now friends.

Loyola’s head football coach John Holecek encourages his players to be active in their communities and emphasizes the importance of service. “Throughout the year, we have our players help out the community in different ways, and they always do a great job of coming together for such great causes.” he says.

Go Ramblers!
