Daniel Gardner '13 Talks Solar WiFi with Mayor Rahm Emanuel

On January 30, University of Illinois engineering student Daniel Gardner ’13 had the opportunity to discuss his concept for free solar powered WiFi with Mayor Rahm Emanuel at the ThinkChicago job fair.
ThinkChicago is an organization established by Mayor Emanuel in 2011 with the mission to introduce bright young students from universities around the country to the growing “ecosystem” of technology and entrepreneurship in Chicago. The job fair hosted nearly thirty of the nation’s leading businesses and a panel discussion chaired by Emanuel and representatives from Grubhub, 1871, Walgreens and PartySlate.

Mayor Emanuel offered park space on the south or west side of the city to Gardner where he and his team can demo their solar powered WiFi system.
