Students Engage with Parent Leaders in Finance and Entrepreneurship

On Tuesday, December 9, members of Loyola Academy’s DECA Chapter, Finance Club, and Entrepreneurship Club and class gathered for a meaningful and engaging parent panel focused on careers in finance and entrepreneurship. Parent panelists Brad Morehead P ’28, ’28, Jenny Morehead P ’28, ’28, and Michael Nelson P ’23, ’25, ’26, ’26 generously shared their firsthand experiences of starting, acquiring, growing, and leading companies.
Through candid stories and practical insights, students learned how preparation for these careers begins now—through intentional focus, dedication, adaptability, and perseverance. Panelists also emphasized two enduring themes that resonated deeply with students: the power of being kind and the importance of grit and persistence in both professional and personal pursuits.

This engaging conversation offered students a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experience, reinforcing Loyola’s commitment to forming men and women who lead with competence, character, and care for others.
