Dr. Baal Honored at Golden Apple Brunch

On Saturday, February 24, Loyola Academy Principal Dr. Kathryn M. Baal was honored at the annual Golden Apple Celebration of Excellence in Teaching and Leadership brunch along with other Golden Apple Award and Stanley C. Golder Leadership Award finalists. The event was hosted at the Rosemont Hilton Chicago O’Hare by the Golden Apple Board of Directors and Academy of Educators.
In early February, Golden Apple announced that Dr. Baal was named one of seven 2018 Stanley C. Golder Leadership Award Finalists for her initiative, dedication, perseverance and innovation.  To read more, click here.

At Saturday’s brunch, Dr. Baal was joined by family, friends and some of her colleagues at Loyola Academy including President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ; Vice President of Mission and Ministry Gary Marando; Associate Principal for Academics Phil Neiman; Assistant Principal for Student Services Charlie Heintz; Executive Assistant to the Principal Julie Meier and English Department Chair Elaine Mueller.

The 33rd annual Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Leadership will be held on Saturday, May 19, at WTTW Studios in Chicago. A winner is expected to be announced this spring.
