Rambler athletes are achieving success this season both on teams and individually.
Swimming and Diving junior Emily Rourke won the conference diving Championship on October 27
Swimming and Diving captain Shannon Kearney set a new conference record in the 100 back and was awarded MCAC senior swimmer of the year on October 28.
Loyola football defeated New Trier 35–32 in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs on October 28. The Ramblers advances to the second round of playoffs on Saturday, November 4, when they will host Hinsdale Central at 1:00 p.m.
The varsity crew team participated in the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, NY, this weekend against some of the top rowing programs in the country. The girls’ 1V boat came in third place, and the girls’ 2V boat came in fourth place. For the boys, the 1V boat came in seventh and the boys’ 2V came in ninth.
In Hockey news, Loyola Gold beat Green 4–2.
Cross-country senior Lainey McKinley qualified for the IHSA state championship over the weekend with a time of 18:18. Lainey will compete in the state championship this weekend.
