Spirit Week is a great tradition in which each day has a themed dress code, unique activities for students and a chance to root for a variety of Rambler athletic teams in anticipation of the homecoming football game and dance.
This year’s theme was “ChicagoLAnd,” and students enjoyed a week of dress down days with fun Chicago-inspired themes like “CTA Train Line Color,” “Skyscraper Day,” “Loyolapalooza,” “Chicago Sports Team Day” and “Loyola Deck Out Day.” Students had the chance to compete in minute-to-win-it in the Cafeteria, a whipped cream pie hunt, karaoke and photo booth and Chicago Trivia in the Student Center.
The week concluded with a rousing Rambler Rally on Friday that led students into the weekend. The Class of 2021 danced the night away at the annual Freshman Luau, a Hawaiian themed party hosted every year in the Cafeteria.
On Saturday, September 23, the varsity football team took on the Fenwick Friars in a homecoming battle that ended with a Rambler victory 41-14. Donned in their formal wear, sophomores, juniors and seniors returned to campus on Saturday evening to celebrate the close of spirit week with a beautiful homecoming dance in the East Gym.
