Matthew Kadus '17 Recognized by Chicago Engineers Foundation
In June, Matthew Kadus ’17 was recognized at the Chicago Engineers Foundation Incentive Awards Presentation, which supports the next generation of up and coming engineers. Kadus was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to advance his interest in hydroponic farming, a method of growing plants in a water solvent without soil. The event was held at the Union League Club of Chicago.
In the fall, Kadus will head to the University of Kentucky in Lexington where he plans to study electrical engineering. Next summer, he plans to return to MightyVine Farm in Rochelle, Illinois, a site he visited during his senior year to learn more about sustainable farming and the future of agriculture.
As a student, Kadus participated in Loyola’s student entrepreneurial program, LA Tank, and was awarded the inaugural Willer Family Accelerator Award for his superior demonstration of the entrepreneurial spirit.
