On February 5, sixteen students attended Loyola's 9th annual ice fishing trip at Liberty Lake in Libertyville, Illinois. The students, many first time ice fishermen, enjoyed a day of beautiful clear skies on the lake.
All participants caught at least one bass, and several caught more—including largemouth bass, bluegill, perch, crappie and bullhead.
The group fished for five hours, and two students even found time to ice skate around the lake. Ramblers learned how to set tipups, use an ice auger and fish for panfish.
Special thanks to Robert J. Hicks '74 and John D. Hicks '79 for giving us this wonderful opportunity.
