Ramblers Capture First IHSA 3A Regional Wrestling Championship in 30 Years
The Loyola Academy wrestling team made program history, capturing the IHSA 3A Regional Championship — the Ramblers' first regional title in three decades. The milestone victory reflects the team's dedication, resilience, and strong performances across the lineup.
Regional Team Champions included Kai Calcutt '26, Niko Odiotti '28, James Hemmila '26, Daniel Malan '26, Quentin Williams '26, and Mateo Hatzopoulos '26.
Daniel Myint '28 and Gavin Pardilla '26 each earned second-place finishes, while Sean Smylie '26 and Mike Maddex '29 placed fourth in their respective weight classes.
A special congratulations to Kai Calcutt, who was recently named the Chicago Catholic League Player of the Year and received the prestigious Lawless Award, recognizing his outstanding achievements on the mat this season.
