The Class of 2020 Reclaims Their Prom Night at Five-Year Reunion

On Saturday, October 11, members of Loyola Academy’s Class of 2020 returned to Lake and Laramie for a long-awaited celebration—their five-year reunion, Prom Reimagined.” The event gave this resilient class, whose senior year was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, a chance to finally experience the night they missed.
The East Gym was alive with energy—the music and laughter filled the air as classmates reunited—some for the first time since graduation. Greeted by Director of Annual Giving Shelby Walchuk '05 and Director of Alumni Relations Mary-Kate Lopez '19, Ramblers arrived dressed to impress and ready to dance, pose for photos, and reminisce about their Loyola days while making new memories together. Many took a few moments to wander the halls, revisiting old classrooms, locker rows, and familiar corners that brought back cherished memories of their Loyola days.

This night was about recreating a milestone that was lost and celebrating how far these Ramblers have come since then. Prom Reimagined perfectly captured the evening’s spirit: joy, gratitude, and a sense of closure for a class that faced an unprecedented end to their high school journey.

The celebration also included an opportunity to give back. Contributions to the Class of 2020 gift supported the Eileen D. Sheahan ’20 Endowment, which provides tuition assistance to deserving Ramblers. The fund honors the memory of their beloved classmate, ensuring that her light continues to shine in the Loyola community.

As the night came to a close, classmates shared hugs, laughter, and promises to stay connected. After five years apart, the Class of 2020’s reunion wasn’t just a party—it was a beautiful reminder of Loyola’s enduring bonds and the spirit of hope that defines the Rambler family.
