Celebrating the Class of 2024

The Principal's Office and Student Activities recently hosted a variety of special events to celebrate our 2024 graduating Ramblers. The senior class enjoyed every moment of these final opportunities together as they prepared to embrace their new status as Loyola Academy alumni.
Senior Prom | Saturday, April 27
Ramblers attended Senior Prom at the Marriott Lincolnshire. Students celebrated the "City of the Stars" themed event with dinner and dancing and captured memorable moments, together with the highly anticipated 360 photo booth. For the first time, late-night snacks, including sliders, pizza, and pigs in a blanket, were enjoyed by all before the evening concluded.

Senior Decision Day | Wednesday, May 1
Senior Ramblers proudly sported spirit wear featuring the logo/name of the college or university to which they committed or plan to attend. The spirit of celebration and excitement was contagious. In the Piazza, students tapped into their creativity while decorating "t-shirt cookies" featuring their new school colors. Each student mapped out their future by pinning where in the world they are headed next year.

Senior Sunset | Wednesday, May 8
The Class of 2024 gathered at Loyola’s Munz Campus in Glenview wearing, once again, their selected or intended future school gear. Together, they watched a beautiful sunset, enjoyed s’mores, took unlimited photos, symbolically launched 24 biodegradable balloons, and lit the sky with sparklers. This year, a new tradition was born—each senior signed a class canvas that will be displayed in the building in the coming weeks. Our new alumni can view their canvas when they return to campus for a visit. This meaningful event provided seniors with another special opportunity to connect outside of the classroom.

Senior Shirt Signing | Thursday, May 16
In what has become a new tradition, seniors enjoyed the attention from their Rambler fans as classmates and teachers spent the day signing their uniform polos. "Anything but a Backpack" Day sparked ingenuity among the Class of 2024. From wagons to coolers, laundry bins to strollers, and microwaves to industrial cleaning supplies, unique ideas to repurpose household items filled the halls, bringing smiles and laughter to the masses. To make the day even sweeter, senior Ramblers enjoyed a refreshing Kona Ice.

Senior Tailgate Breakfast | Friday, May 17
The early birds get all the fun. Seniors gathered in the South Lot to eat, play, and have a pre-classroom outdoor celebration. Seniors enjoyed playing various games, listening to music, and indulging in donuts, juice, and even made-to-order waffles! Ramblers were ready to compete and celebrate with one another throughout the fun-filled day.

Senior Olympics | Friday, May 17
This annual event commenced with the National Anthem, beautifully performed by Chambers Choir member Hannah Beil '24. Senior Olympics matched 21 teams of Formation classes against each other in friendly competition, playing active, team-based games such as tug-of-war, fill-the-bucket, and more. Team Clare’s Heirs was the overall victor.

Our Ramblers worked up an appetite, which made the post-event BBQ a hit. With a variety of burgers, french fries, watermelon, and the infamous caf cookies, it was a feast fit for a graduate. The excitement increased with the announcement of raffle winners. All were grateful for the generous donations made by our senior parents, which provided forty-one prizes, perfect for college-bound seniors. Prizes included various gift cards, a microwave, television, mini-fridge, Keurig, Hydro Flask water bottles, Airpods, Cubs tickets, and more. Each senior received their first LA alumni gift—a portable charger—so they can always stay connected.

A special thanks to the more than 35 parents who helped ensure the Olympic games ran smoothly, with fun had by all.

Sending Forth Mass | Friday, May 17
During the Sending Forth Mass, Loyola Academy Principal Tim Devine '88 celebrated two notable award winners, previously recognized at the annual Honors Convocation, and revealed this year’s top award winners. Read the full story here.

Baccalaureate Mass | Sunday, May 19

Graduation | Saturday, May 25
On Saturday, May 25, Northwestern University's Welsh-Ryan Arena was filled with Rambler pride as Loyola Academy celebrated its 114th Commencement Exercises. More than 450 members of the Class of 2024, together with family and friends, gathered one final time as classmates to celebrate their achievements and look to the future as they close this chapter and go forth as Loyola Academy alumni.
