Loyola Academy established the Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ, Award in 1963 to honor those who have provided distinguished service in the cause of youth. The award is named for Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ (1888–1955), who was an example of how one man, born more than a century ago, made a difference in the lives of many young people. Fr. Lord believed in young people, and he believed in ideas and communication. He worked endlessly with the youth of his day and was regenerated by their vigor and their idealism.
In addition, three outstanding faculty and staff members were honored:
2023 Educator of the Year: Ms. Haley Yanarella (Science) 2023 Staff Excellence Award: Mrs. Beth Stanton P '16, '18, '20, '22 (Counseling) 2023 Fausone Medal: Ms. Joan Dowdle (retired, O'Shaughnessy Program)
