Loyola Academy Announces New Board of Trustee Members

Loyola Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of five new trustees for terms beginning in Fall 2023. Board members make significant contributions to the life and culture of Loyola Academy, helping to continue our longstanding tradition and to redefine excellence in each new age. Their work is a gift of time, talent, and treasure.
John Livingston '85
CEO, Verve Industrial Protection
John graduated from Princeton University in 1989 with an AB in Economics; from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University in 1993 with an MBA; and from the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern in 1993 with a JD. He worked for over 20 years at McKinsey and Co., leading McKinsey’s wireless practice in the Americas and ending as a senior partner and office manager in their Chicago office.  Since 2016, he has been the CEO of Verve Industrial Protection, a security software company. John comes from a family of Loyola Academy graduates and is a member of the Class of 1985.  He is the son of Homer Livingston, a former board chairman at Loyola Academy, and is also the father of Homer ’20, Will ’22, and Alana ’25.
 
Jennifer Lucas '99
Director of Internal Audit, Walgreens Boots Alliance
Jennifer is a 1999 graduate of Loyola Academy and received both a bachelors and masters in accounting from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to her role as Audit Director, Jennifer was the Director of Global Financial Controls at WBA, where she was responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance and controls over significant acquisitions, divestitures and system implementations. Jennifer began her twenty year career as an external auditor at KPMG, focusing on clients within the consumer, industrial and manufacturing lines of business and then moved on to PepsiCo, where she was responsible for controls and process improvements for Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade businesses. She serves on the Parish Finance Council for the Church of St. Mary and is an active member of the Parents Association at the school. Jennifer is married to Michael Lucas ’97 and is the daughter of Ed Wehmer ’72, a former board chairman at Loyola Academy. Jennifer and Michael have three children, Johnny, Claire and Matthew.
 
Rev. Theodore Munz, SJ
Strategic Finance,  Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus
Fr. Munz attended St. Xavier Jesuit High School in Cincinnati and then the University of Detroit, earning a BA in Philosophy.  He entered the Society of Jesus in 1971 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1983.  He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and graduate degrees in Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University.  Fr. Munz was the team leader for the founding of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago from 1994 to 1996.  He served as the 7th president of Loyola Academy from 1996 to 2009 and as treasurer of the Midwest Jesuits from 2009 to 2014.  He most recently was the 29th president of University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy.  He currently works in strategic finance for the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus.
 
Mark C. Reed
President, Loyola University Chicago
Mark became the president of Loyola University Chicago in October, 2022. Previously, he was president of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and served in multiple roles, including Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, at Fairfield University. Mark received a BS in mathematics and MBA from Fairfield University, a MEd in secondary educational administration from Boston College, and an EdD in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on and is past chair of the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia and the Council of Presidents for the Atlantic 10 Conference. Additionally, he serves on the Boards of Directors for the American Council on Education (ACE), the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU), Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), and the NCAA Division I Board. Mark is the father of Maggie ’27.
 
Patricia Sheahan
Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County
Patricia (“Patti”) Sheahan is a Cook County Circuit Court judge, currently assigned to the Law Division, Trial Section, at the Richard J. Daley Center, where she presides over personal injury jury trials.

Patti serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Judges’ Association and recently served as Topic Editor of the Illinois Bench Book on Civil Law and Procedure.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Indiana University and received her JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996.
 
Prior to her county-wide election to the bench in 2014, Patti worked as Associate General Counsel at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, now known as Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Early in her career, Patti worked as a litigation associate at Baker McKenzie.
 
Throughout her career, Patti has devoted substantial time to pro bono and public interest work. She served for 12 years as a member of the Center for Disability and Elder Law’s Governing Board of Directors, as well as the Advisory Board. She also served as Vice President of the Easy K Foundation, which is a not-for-profit residential home for individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently Patti serves as Board Chair of The Academy at St. Joan of Arc, an independent Catholic grade school in Evanston. She is mom to Eileen ’20, Erin ’21, Margaret ’23, and Michael ’25.
