Thank you to Jonah Nolan '94, who recently visited Loyola to chat with our students! Throughout his carer, Jonah has worked on critically acclaimed projects such as Memento, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and the HBO series Westworld. Jonah offered valuable insights into his creative process while writing for film and television.
Later that evening, Jonah reunited with Mr. James O'Loughlin '62, who taught Jonah in his freshman year Honors English class. Jonah has long credited Mr. O'Loughlin as being a mentor to him, and he still uses lessons he learned from Mr. O'Loughlin as he writes stories and screenplays.
"I do hold on to a lot of the lessons from Mr. O'Loughlin's class," reflected Jonah. "I think that if you are armed with a grounding in how to use language, how to use it well, and how to think about storytelling, you're in good shape...I am grateful that there are teachers out there like Mr. O'Loughlin."
