On March 20–24, Ramblers celebrated a festive Spring Spirit Week to welcome the arrival of spring and warmer temps. Each day, students had the opportunity to dress down in fun themes like "Jersey Day" on Monday, "Twin/Triplet Day" on Tuesday, "Class Colors" on Wednesday, "PJ Day" on Thursday, and "Maroon and Gold Day" on Friday. Intramural basketball, class competitions, karaoke, and musical chairs were just some of the activities hosted by Student Council to energize students throughout the week.
Spirit week kicked off with Tulip Trot, Loyola's turnabout dance, on Saturday, March 18. Students danced the night away in Loyola's West Gym and made great memories that will last a lifetime.
To cap the week off, a rousing Rambler pep rally took place in the East Gym on Friday, March 24, and featured the talents of the Ramblerettes, Nothing But Treble, LA Step Team, and more. Seniors Lexi Vasilopolous, Will Farrell, and Kyan Gibbs served as emcees. Throughout the hour-long assembly, energy was high as music blared inside the gym and students, sitting in the bleachers and on the balcony, cheered on their friends and classmates. A basketball game between faculty and students was a crowd favorite. Students took home the win with a final score of 21-20. A game of "Ships & Sailors" between seniors and captains of spring sports teams was also a highlight for many students.
Spring Spirit Week 2023 was a wonderful way for Loyola students, faculty, and staff to kick off the fourth quarter as a community. We acknowledge the tremendous efforts of the Student Activities Office in organizing and preparing so many wonderful events and activities!
