Girls' Basketball Visits the Famed Hoosier Gym in Indiana
During the first weekend of December, the girls' varsity basketball team and their parents/guardians visited the famed Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana, to play against DeLaSalle High School. It was a fun weekend filled with team bonding—the entire girls' basketball program watched the 1986 movie Hoosiers in the Leemputte Family Theater before the trip—and a 59-18 Rambler victory.
Taking inspiration from the Huskers, the fictional high school basketball team featured in the film, the Ramblers prepared for their match up using dribbling and shooting drills they saw in the movie and even did the famous Hoosiers slow clap.
"It was a great weekend," says Susie McGovern, associate principal for academics and assistant varsity girls' basketball coach. "We had team dinner, team bonding, and all sorts of fun...not only with our players, but with a great group of parent support!"
Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff. Many thanks to the parents who attended and were part of the fun!
