Celebrating the 65th Annual President's Dinner

On Friday, November 4, members of the Loyola Academy community came together to celebrate the 65th annual President’s Dinner. Approximately 200 alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends gathered at the Amazing Space@625 in downtown Chicago to honor Ellen S. and Peter G. Leemputte '75 with the 2022 Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ, Award. Notably, the evening marked the first President’s Dinner under the leadership of Rev. Gregory J. Ostdiek, SJ.
Loyola Academy established the Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ, Award in 1963 to honor those who have provided distinguished service in the cause of youth. The award is named for Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ (1888–1955), who was an example of how one man, born more than a century ago, made a difference in the lives of many young people. Fr. Lord believed in young people, and he believed in ideas and communication. He worked endlessly with the youth of his day and was regenerated by their vigor and their idealism.

In their remarks, the Leemputtees celebrated the tireless work of Loyola's faculty and staff to advance Loyola’s mission everyday. They reflected on the role Loyola has played in their own lives and the importance of the strong Jesuit values that Loyola instills in its graduates.
