On a beautiful evening in May, Rambler moms enjoyed passed appetizers, cocktails and camaraderie as they soaked in gorgeous lakefront views at Michigan Shores Country Club during the annual Mothers Connect and Celebrate Reception. The event, last held in-person in 2019, gave mothers and female guardians of Loyola students an opportunity to re-engage and welcome mothers of incoming students to the Loyola Academy community.
The festivities on May 11 were a reimagining of the more formal dinner hosted in prior years. This year, mothers enjoyed a reception-style event that provided the perfect atmosphere for mingling. In keeping with tradition, senior mothers were honored with a special rose ceremony.
As a special treat for those in attendance, graduate parent and motivational speaker Julie Fischer, PCC, CAPP, APPC, led a mini-workshop to help mothers thrive and flourish.
"We learned about deepening gratitude, increasing hope in our fractured world, building stronger connections with others, savoring moments of joy and the power of faith as pathways to a greater sense of well-being," shared Director of Special and Philanthropic Events Briana Wells.
Many thanks to Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, and event chairs Mary Kate Donnelly, Tina Drossos, Jennifer Hickman, Missy Laferty and Jennifer O'Shaughnessy. As well as Special Events Coordinator Clarice Swanson '14 and Director of Special and Philanthropic Events Briana Wells for making this a special evening for everyone.
