Ramble 2022: Love in Action

On Saturday, May 7, approximately 400 members of the Loyola community gathered—in-person for the first time since 2019—for the 53rd Ramble, Love in Action. The evening raised over $1.3M for the Loyola Academy Tuition Assistance Program. The Ramble is Loyola's single largest fundraiser benefiting tuition assistance, and this year's theme, Love in Action, was a beautiful reminder of the work we do as partners in Jesuit education.
Guests left the black-tie at home for this year’s reimagined event, which began with Mass in the Chapel celebrated by Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ. Following Mass was a beautiful reception in the West Gym including gourmet dining stations, cocktails, raffles, and a silent auction. At 8:00 p.m. began the spirited live auction and paddle raise, offering big ticket items such as lavish trips to Paris, Costa Rica and Napa, a highly coveted parking spot in Loyola Academy’s student parking lot and more to the highest bidders.

At the end of the live auction, Board of Trustees Chair Nancy E. Paridy presented Fr. McGrath with a check for $500,000 to endow a scholarship in his name upon his departure at the end of the 2021–22 school year. The Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, Endowed Scholarship honors the remarkable tenure of Fr. McGrath as Loyola Academy president.

Next, we were honored to have Rambler alumna Diana Phiri, RN '16 share her personal story of how Loyola's Jesuit education has significantly impacted her journey.

Before the evening drew to a close, Vice President for Advancement Bob Miller drew winners for the car raffle and 3rd annual tuition raffle. Congratulations to:
