Classics Teachers Recognized for Exemplary Teaching of Latin

Loyola Academy congratulates Classics Teachers Dr. Bill Lowe and Mrs. Becki Wick who were named as the 2020 Farrand Baker Illinois Latin Teachers of the Year by the Illinois Classical Conference (ICC)! Dr. Lowe and Mrs. Wick have been recognized for their "exemplary teaching of Latin, outstanding service to the ICC, dedication to the cause of Classics in the teacher's home community and participation in regional and national organizations of the Classics."
The Illinois Latin Teacher of the Year Award was instituted by the Illinois Classical Conference in 1985. It was renamed the Farrand Baker Illinois Latin Teacher of the Year Award in 1990 to honor former ICC president Farrand Baker, who passed away this year.

Notably, former Loyola Academy faculty member and longtime Classics Teacher Don Sprague was the award recipient in 1990.

Congratulations, Dr. Lowe and Mrs. Wick!
