A Jesuit College Preparatory Experience

Loyola Academy Presents “The K of D” Spring Play

Loyola Academy's Department of Performing Arts and Thespian Troupe #4729 performed “The K of D” on March 5–8. The K of D follows the fallout from a small-town urban legend called the “Kiss of Death.” The players consist of a motley crew of teens, five girlfriends who are all vapid, a vicious son that contrasts his gentle father, and the odd parents of a girl who simply stopped talking one day. One omniscient narrator crafts the dynamic of these characters as the show moves beyond explanations and anecdotes. It serves as a commentary to how we all process grief in different ways and asks the pivotal question: Where does storytelling end and truth begin?
“Developing these questions and themes has been one of my favorite parts of assisting in the direction of this show,” says student director Meghan Oeste ’22. “Being able to put my touch on this production and having the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented and hardworking cast and crew has been one of my most memorable experiences.”

Congratulations to the cast, crew and production staff!
