Ellen-Blair Chube Speaks at Young Alumni Breakfast Series

On Friday, April 13, the President’s Leadership Council (PLC) hosted the third session of its networking Breakfast Speaker Series. Ellen-Blair Chube, managing director and client service officer, investment banking at William Blair & Company, was the event's featured speaker.
Chube discussed her dynamic career and the influential roles she has played in public service, business, finance and more. She emphasized the importance of maintaining one’s values alongside success and the advantage of investing in people rather than companies.

“Giving back was a main theme in Ms. Chube’s presentation,” says PLC Executive Board MemberBrian Mulroe ’08. “She encouraged attendees to stay involved and to be deliberate in everything we do.”

At William Blair in Chicago, Chube is responsible for high level engagement with clients outside of banking transactions, including the development of a platform to learn from the firm’s clients on individual and collective interactions. Through this process, Chube identifies thematic best practices, trends and upcoming needs of clients, as well as original client-oriented content and programming. In addition to her role as Client Service Officer, Chube works with the venture capital group to assist in extending the company’s advisory services among venture capital firms, corporate venture groups, and entrepreneurial hubs in domestic and international markets. She also works on the department’s engagement with public company board of directors.

Notably, Chube is a trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and serves on the boards of the Toigo Foundation, Chicago Children’s Choir and the Sue Duncan Children’s Center. She is also a member of the Obama Foundation Inclusion Council. In December 2014, she was named one of Crain’s Chicago Business “40 under 40.” She graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in political science and earned a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
