Calling all sixth, seventh, eighth grade dancers! Come and dance with the nationally-ranked Loyola Academy Ramblerettes! Clinic participants will learn technique and a short routine from the JV and Varsity dance team and will perform with the Ramblerettes at the varsity girls' basketball halftime!
Girls in grades six, seven, or eight can enjoy an evening at Loyola Academy to cheer on the Loyola Ramblers vs. Montini Broncos. As VIP guests, participants will be included in Coach Schoenecker's pre-game talk, take a picture with the varsity team, and enjoy reserved seating at the game. Come be a part of an exciting night of Rambler basketball.
Online pre-registration begins on Saturday, November 11, and will conclude on Thursday, November 30, at 8:00 a.m. Walk in registration on Saturday, December 2, is available.
The exam is only open to current eighth grade students. Please note, students must test at Loyola Academy on December 2 to be considered for admission to Loyola and eligible financial aid.
On the day of the exam, parents are invited to a curriculum presentation in the Performing Arts Center beginning at 8:30 a.m. Loyola Academy administrators and department chairs will present information on Loyola's curriculum, placement process, and course options. Current Loyola Academy students will also be available to answer questions. This presentation is optional.
In a webinar for freshman, sophomore, and junior students and their parents, a panel of college admission representatives from three types of colleges (public, highly selective, and Jesuit) will discuss how applications are evaluated at their institutions. The panel will review real transcript materials and provide a behind-the-scenes peek into an admissions committee. The event will take place via Zoom.
This virtual session is designed for parents and guardians of seniors exploring scholarships and/or need-based financial assistance for college. Associate Vice President for Financial Aid at Lake Forest College Jerry Cebrzynski will discuss the anticipated changes to the FAFSA for the upcoming school year. This presentation will also focus specifically on the needs of current seniors, placing emphasis on:
Scholarships, grants, and loans
How and when to apply for aid
How financial aid awards are made
Public and private college financial aid programs
Using the Net Price Calculator to anticipate college costs.
All sixth, seventh, and eighth* grade actors, please join Loyola Academy for an after school two week theater program. The camp will run December 4 through December 15, 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Students will learn acting skills from Loyola's theater teachers and rehearse an adaptation of The Nutcracker incorporating: movement, voice, clowning, and ensemble acting. The performance will be on stage of the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center.
*8th grade participants must have taken the entrance exam at Loyola Academy on December 2 to participate in the Theater Camp.
