The Loyola Academy Shadow program gives prospective students the opportunity to experience a typical school day at Loyola Academy. Eighth grade students are invited to shadow in the fall and seventh grade students are invited to shadow in the spring. Prospective transfer students are also invited to shadow in the spring.

Shadows will accompany a freshman or sophomore student throughout the school day. If you know a freshman or sophomore Loyola student who you would like to shadow, please make this request when you are scheduling your shadow day.

All shadow reservations are made online. Please note, Loyola Academy has a limited number of shadows per day. Shadow reservations are on a first come, first served basis. Shadow reservations must be made at least five days in advance of the shadow day.

  • Drop Off and Pick Up

    The Shadow day begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:10 p.m. Shadows should enter through the main entrance and proceed to the Marillac Room, room 250. Please follow our student drop off procedures available here. Parents should pick up at the main entrance at 2:10 p.m.
  • Attire

    Shadows should wear a collared shirt or blouse and khaki, navy, or black pants. Shadows may wear any kind of shoes except for sandals and flip flops. Blue jeans and skirts are not permitted.
  • Lunch

    Lunch will be provided in the Loyola cafeteria. A shadow should bring a few dollars for snacks and drinks.

At Loyola Academy, our highest priorities are the health, well being and safety of our students and staff, including our prospective students. Effective Monday, March 16, the Loyola Academy Admissions Office will be suspending its Shadow Program. Our tentative plan is to reopen the Shadow Program after Loyola’s spring break on Monday, April 20. Thank you for your understanding and patience. We look forward to your visit to Loyola Academy.
Available shadow days for seventh graders are indicated on the shadow calendar. Online registration for a shadow day is now available.
