Katie Magner '24 and Gigi Zera '24 made the cut on day one of state competition and both played well on day two. Abby Dimberio '24 just missed the cut, but was a great cheerleader for the girls on day two. Katie finished 15th (80-73) and Gigi posted rounds of 79-79. Proud of those girls! Go Ramblers!
Katie Magner '24 (74), Gigi Zera '24 (75), and Abby Dimberio '24 (79) have advanced to the state tournament as individuals! The girls’ golf team was dealt a sectional with a talented field this year and battled it out against top teams in the state, like Stevenson, Glenbrook North, and Barrington. They ultimately fell short by 9 strokes, but gave it their all and are walking away with no regrets.
The girls' golf team is advancing to the Sectionals competition on Monday, October 2, at Buffalo Grove Golf Course. As a team, they shot 316 and took third place. Glenbrook North won the Regional shooting a 293 and Stevenson trailed not too far behind with a 297. The Ramblers were led by seniors Katie Magner '24 with a three-under 69, and Gigi Zera '24 with a one-under 71. Abby Dimberio '24 and Abbey Riekse '26 also contributed to the advancing team score with an 87 and 89.
Congratulations to the varsity girls' golf team on their first place finish at the GCAC Golf Championship! Katie Magner '24 earned medalist honors with a 68. This is the 4th year that Katie has been the medalist of the GCAC. Congratulations to Katie on this impressive accomplishment.
