• Ramblers finish 2nd at Lake Forest Freshen Invite

  Congrats to Our Freshmen Ramblers who finished in 2nd place at the ultra competitive Frosh Invite at Foss Park with a team score of 334. New Trier (321) claimed 1st place, but we edged out Hinsdale Central, Geneva,  Lake Forest, GBS, GBN and St. Francis. Dylan Sorrow finished 4th individually with a score of 79. Kane Kearney 84, Tim Devore 84, Dennis Roche 87 and Cam McGinn 90 all contributed.

  We look forward to seeing you Wednesday AM at Wilmette for our 2nd day of tryouts. Please pay prior to your tee time in the pro shop and show your receipt to the starter. We will make our first cut after the round Wednesday. Good Luck to everyone. Please email me in advance if you will no longer be attending tryouts.

  In order to tryout for Loyola JV Golf you MUST have completed all registration materials, have an updated physical on file at LA and be cleared by the athletic department BEFORE Monday Aug 11th the first day of tryouts. We DO NOT offer make up sessions if you can’t attend tryouts.  Please direct all registration questions to the LA athletic dept and Kate York- kyork@loy.org

  
  

  You must be in attendance for all days of tryouts in order to be eligible to make the Loyola JV golf team. Please pay for your green fee upon arrival each day at the golf course and keep your receipt to show the starter. Please arrive early to go to the range/putting green/short game area. We will have a meeting before try outs on Aug 11th at 12:15 at Heritage Oaks. Please wear proper golf attire for all days of tryouts.

  
  

  Loyola Academy Golf has a rich tradition of excellence on the course as competitors and as sportsmen. We expect everyone who is trying out to have an understanding of golf etiquette, the rules of the game, pace of place, respect for the game/golf course and fellow competitors. We expect that everyone competes with discipline and class and always maintains a high level of integrity. Keeping an accurate score is a minimum requirement that all individuals trying out must uphold and is a standard that will not be compromised during tryouts or throughout our season. 

  
  

  A season schedule will be available for team members following our 4 days of tryouts. 

  
  

  Typically, incoming Freshmen need to shoot consistent scores through the 4 days of tryouts in the mid to low 90’s and Sophomores in the low 90’s, upper 80’s  to make the team. 

   

  A complete schedule for the season will be available at the end of tryouts.  For planning purposes there will be no golf matches/practice Aug 15th-17th or Labor Day weekend. We don’t have matches or practice on Friday’s. 

   

  For those individuals who make the golf team. A golf bag and golf gear will be required to purchase. You will not need to order either of these. More info will be available later.
