  Loyola Academy Assistant Athletic Director and Head Football Coach John Holecek announced on Monday that he will depart Loyola Academy in June and focus on the next chapter of his career. The decision comes less than two weeks after the Ramblers won the 2022 IHSA 8A state championship.

  The varsity football team defeated the Lincoln-Way East Griffins 13-3 on Saturday, November 26, to become the 2022 IHSA 8A State Champions! This is the program's fourth state championship—the third under Coach John Holecek (2015, 2018, 2022).  Congratulations to the entire team, Coach Holecek and his staff, and the team captains (Jake Stearney '23, Jack Fitzgerald '23, Johnny McGuire '23, and Brooks Bahr '23) on a perfect ending to an incredible 13–1 season.   Rambler Football Advances to IHSA Semifinals

  Loyola Academy defeated Lyons Township 30-17 in the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 12. Next up, the Ramblers will take on York on Saturday, November 19, in the IHSA semifinals. The game begins at 1:00 p.m. at York High School in Elmhurst. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. Tickets are available on GoFan for $8.00. Spectators are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as a very limited number of tickets will be available at the gate for $9.00 cash. Per the IHSA, all students need to purchase a ticket.

  Ramblers Advance to the IHSA Quarterfinals

  The varsity football team defeated Edwardsville 49-21 on Saturday, November 5, to advance to the IHSA quarterfinals vs Lyons Township at Loyola Academy on Saturday, November 12, at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are available on GoFan for $7.00 or available at the gate for $8.00 cash. Per the IHSA, all students need to purchase a ticket. Gates will open at 11:15 a.m. Come out and support LA football as they compete in the quarterfinals!

  Rambler Football Makes Its ESPN Debut

  On Sunday, August 28, Loyola Academy’s varsity football team opened its 2022 season against the St. Xavier Bombers from Cincinnati, Ohio, as the highly anticipated finale to the 2022 Geico ESPN High School Football Kickoff. The game—in which the Ramblers took a swift and dominant lead and clinched a 44–20 victory—was broadcast to a national audience on ESPN.
