It was a great day to be a Rambler on Saturday as the Loyola Gold hockey team ended a 22 year drought, winning the State Championship 4-2. The first goal was scored by Aidan Finegan, assisted by Eamon O'Brien and Christian Dunne. The second goal was scored by Declan Darcy on an assist from Danny Stevens. The third goal came from Nick Liebers, and Timmy Hackett sealed the win with an empty netter. Hugh Brady was in the net for the win. Thanks to all everyone who came out to support them at the United Center and congrats to Loyola Gold on winning State. Go Ramblers!
The Loyola Academy Gold Hockey team defeated the Glenbrook North Spartans 2–1 in the state semifinals on Monday, March 12. The Ramblers play Stevenson for the state championship on Saturday, March 24, at 3:00 p.m. at the United Center!
After a 2-1 victory over GBN, Gold moves on to the State Finals. Danny Stevens assisted Brock Huber for both goals. Hugh Brady was in the net for the win.

In January, eight hockey teams from Jesuit and Catholic high schools across the nation accepted an invitation from Loyola Academy’s varsity hockey program, Loyola Gold, and St. Ignatius College Prep to participate in the second annual Jesuit Cup Hockey Tournament.
