The Varsity Girls' Basketball team won the IHSA Class 4A Sectional Semifinal, defeating Maine South 62–48, on Monday, February 19. Junior Julia Martinez led the Ramblers with 20 points. Senior Lilly Wehman collected 12 points, and junior Celia Satter finished the game with 15 points. Before the match up with Maine South, Loyola won its second consecutive IHSA Regional Championship on Thursday, February 15, with a 47–31 win over Evanston.
Congratulations to Coach Jeremy Schoenecker on his 200th win after the girls' varsity basketball team defeated Phillips 73–72 in the New Trier Tournament over the weekend!
Coach Schoenecker took over the girls' varsity basketball program in 2008. Since then, he has clinched a winning record in all nine seasons—including four regional championships and a fourth place finish in Class 4A in 2012.
