Congratulations to the Girls' Swimming and Diving Team on an outstanding performance at the IHSA Sectional on Saturday, November 8, where the Ramblers earned a second-place team finish and qualified in all three relays and eight individual events for the IHSA State Championship. This is the first time since 2011 that Rambler swimmers qualified for each event!
On October 24 and 25, Loyola Academy Girls' Swimming and Diving hosted the Metro Catholic Athletic Conference Championship (MCAC). The frosh/soph and JV teams both finished in third place, and the varsity team took second. In diving, Mattea D'Anniballe '26 finished sixth. Other team highlights include a first-place finish in the varsity 200-yard freestyle relay (Lia Roggi '28, Kennedy Fitzgerald '29, Sophia Friestedt '27, and Kinsley Fitzgerald '27), Ava Mertes '26 took first in the junior varsity 500-yard freestyle, and Lia Roggi '28 took first in the varsity 50-yard freestyle. Additionally, Coach Mike Hengelmann received the Coach of the Year Award.
