How are campers placed into groups?
Campers are placed into groups separated by age and gender.
Can I request that my child be placed in a group with his/her friend(s)?
One of the best part of Day Camp is making new friends, and our counselors work diligently to ensure the entire group bonds, and multiple groups of the same age typically partake in the same activities together. That said, we will do our best to honor friend requests provided that the campers are the same age group and gender, it is a mutual friend request, and the counselor ratio of the group is within our standards
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
Our goal is to provide roughly 12–14 campers per counselor. Additionally, our youngest groups are accompanied by a second counselor, and there are adult instructors at every station.
When does camp registration end?
Camp registration is ongoing until we reach capacity. At this time, capacity of camp is limited to 200 campers on any given day to allow us to maintain the size and spacing of groups recommended by health guidelines. Once we reach that limit, we will maintain a wait-list of interested families and pull from that list if another family withdraws or health guidelines permit us to safely increase enrollment.
What happens if COVID-19 prevents my child from attending Camp?
The health and safety of our community is our top priority, and we will do everything within our power to ensure camp is able to operate safely by limiting the spread of the coronavirus. If health officials require Day Camp to shut down prior to the start of Day Camp as they did in 2020, all camp families will receive a refund in full. If camp is required by health officials to shut down after the start of Day Camp, we will compensate staff for their work and cover the other running costs of camp that have already been incurred, and then a good faith effort will be made to provide a partial refund to all families from the balance. If an individual camper is not able to participate in camp due to contact tracing/symptoms/a positive test, etc., we will unfortunately not be able to issue a refund to that camp family due to the necessity of covering the costs incurred to camp (counselor salaries, etc,) to provide for that camper.
