Advent Retreat for Adults

Chapel
Advent is a season of expectant waiting and preparation. The season invites us to open our hearts to the ways God is breaking into our lives and the world.

Through a series of meditations, prayers and contemplative practices, we invite Loyola parents, alumni and friends to enter into this holy season. Each week we will explore different faces from the Nativity story, mining the familiar stories for their wisdom and guidance. Each session stands alone. Join us for one week, two weeks or all three. This is a busy time of year. Give yourself the gift of time—the time to be attentive to the deeper stirrings in your heart.
  • Joseph and Mary
    Tuesday, November 27
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.”
  • The Visit of the Magi
    Tuesday, December 4
Where is the newborn king? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage.
  • The Visit of the Shepherds
    Tuesday, December 11
When the angels went away from them to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us."
